Breaking Biasness in Healthcare Students | BE MORE With Anu

I began the month of October working with incoming graduate students at the University of Texas Health Science Center to support them infuse diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in their professional practice. Two years ago, Dr. Debbie Gillespie, who attended my Breaking Racial Bias training five years ago reached out to me to integrate the breaking bias as a part of UNT-HSC's pioneering M.Sc Program in Lifestyle Health Science & Coaching program. We deployed our Breaking Bias in Healthcare course, and these students really rose to the challenges that BBHC issues!

Over the years, I have found that each of our clients gives me something unique in which to find joy. Following our UNT-HSC engagement, I reflected that I'm so heartened and inspired each time I have the opportunity to work together with students - particularly Gen Z. They had so many wonderful questions and insights to add to the chat, and our three hours together flew by.

I'm always struck by folks who wonder whether it's possible to deliver a truly transformative program addressing DEIB work virtually. I would invite any skeptic to witness one of these programs: the Zoom chat is alive with a-ha moments, encouragements, and connections. What could we call that other than a beloved community?

Client Work - Blog-1

Breaking Bias in Healthcare is a wonderful fit for teams working in or adjacent to the medical field, and who are looking to develop and deepen their relationship with DEIB work. I'm honored to have been part of the UNT-HSC team's Breaking Bias journey!

Thank you so much to Dr. Debbie Gillespie, Dr. Misti Zoblosky, and the entire team at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center. I so enjoyed our time together, and I wish you, your students, and your faculty the very best as you move forward into another school year!

Are you a visionary leader looking to bring this work to your own organization? Get in touch with us here -- we'd love to wind up blogging about the work we were able to achieve together deploying our programs at your workplace!
