Sharon Salzberg will keynote the Breaking Bias Summit!
Friends, I could not be more excited to share with you the first of our two Breaking Bias Summit keynote speakers -- both dynamic women who inspire and motivate my own professional practice.
Sharon Salzberg is a central figure in the field of meditation. She is meditation pioneer, world-renowned teacher, and New York Times bestselling author. She is one of the first to bring mindfulness and lovingkindness meditation to mainstream American culture over 45 years ago, inspiring generations of meditation teachers and wellness influencers.
More personally, she is my own teacher. And I could not be more thrilled and honored that she'll be joining us to play such a pivotal role in the Breaking Bias Summit.
Compassion transforms us
Sharon taught me the power of compassion. If you know me, or have engaged with my work, you know how deeply convicted I am of compassion's power to transform us. We are hard-wired for it -- it is the most natural thing in the world to us. And yet, so often, we find that the work ahead of us is to find our way back to it.
Sharon truly embodies and walks this path through boundless love. We have sat many retreats together. Each time, I learn something new, whether from the outside world or from Sharon's ability to help me turn inward and look deeper into myself.
As you know, the theme of our summit is Applying Mindfulness to Dismantle Systemic Racism. In order to achieve this vision, we must have strong roots in our own mindfulness practices. I'm so grateful to have had so many opportunities over the years to learn from Sharon in this way, and I cannot wait to bring this knowledge to you, as well.
If you haven't already, I hope you'll consider registering for our Summit today. If you have... well, first, thank you. I know you know that this work will take all of us working together if we're to end racism in our lifetimes. Along those lines, I hope you'll consider sharing the registration link with a friend -- perhaps one that will walk this path together with you.
Either way, I'm thrilled to bring you the opportunity to learn from Sharon, as I have, in November.
